Process Accreditations

Our Ion Nitride process and quality system are fully accredited by PRI/NADCAP since 2003. This means we follow the strictest quality standards ion the industry. In addition to NADCAP, Metal Plasma Technology holds approval from Boeing, Northrop Grumman, GE Aviation, and Collins Aerospace among others. In the commercial industry, we are approved to service parts for Solar Turbines/Caterpillar, Crissair, Del West Engineering, and Productive Robotics among others.

MPT operates dual vessel systems. This allows us to run parts while loading other vessels. As a result, the system automatically switches to the next vessel to keep running. This means we are running 24/7/365. Additionally, MPT has the largest ion plasma nitriding furnace available. We will process virtually any shape or size part. MPT has 570 cubic feet of processing capacity total. We are able to process large part quantities in a single run.

Ion Nitride Process

All MPT’s ion nitride furnaces are pulse plasma vessels. This means a clean, efficient and uniform activation of the nitrogen atoms during the ionization process. This type ionization results in a more uniform case depth, imparts the optimum surface hardness and yields excellent metallurgical properties. Additionally, the ion nitriding temperatures are carried out a much lower temperature as compared to the conventional gas nitriding. Thus, the chance of distortion is severely minimized.
